    With the economy fast development and increasing population, some places in China are facing cute water resources shortage. The Standards of Drinking Water Quality (GB5749-85) does not meet the requirements for the safety of people's drinking water. Therefore, Ministry of Health of PRC and the Standardization Administration of PRC issue the new compulsive standard --The Standards of Drinking Water Quality (GB5749-2006), which will be in force from 1 July 2007
